Certified Recovery Specialist Class
Become a Certified Recovery Specialist
If you are in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction, you can use your experience to help others. Our Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) classes teach you the skills you need to support people on their recovery journey.
In this free, three-week program, you will complete 10 classes that prepare you for the Pennsylvania Certification Board certification exam. After becoming certified, you can explore jobs helping others in recovery.
The training is led by PRO-A and hosted by UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor, and Recovery is NWPA.
To join the program, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have at least 18 months of continuous recovery.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Be approved before attending the classes.
Enrollment must be completed through the Pennsylvania Certification Board.
- You must be approved prior to attending this series. If you are interested, email Patti B. at patti.b@pro-a.org.
- Create a Pennsylvania Certification Board account.
- Enroll in the Recovery Specialist - 337 class.
